Tristan: What’s going on, Living Corporate? It’s Tristan, and I want to thank you for tapping back in with me as I provide some tips and advice for professionals. Today, I want to provide a tip that can help you boost your professional network.
We all know that a significant factor in your career advancement is the breadth and depth of your professional network, but all too often, we’re passive and expect our network to somehow strengthen on its own with minimal effort on our part. Sometimes we also confuse random social media scrolling during lunch with actively growing our professional network. Unfortunately, those two things are not the same. Professionals with really strong networks make an effort to build them, and I want to talk about a website that can help you do just that (and no, this isn’t an ad).
Lunchclub.com is a website that facilitates casual conversations that lead to not-so-casual professional impact. When you sign up, you tell them about your background, goals, and what you’re excited about. Each week, you let them know your availability and your main goal. From there, they will ask you if you’d like to meet with a new connection, and if so, their AI will arrange a 1:1 conversation with the match.
Lunchclub uses its artificial intelligence models to facilitate connections with people who may not have initially been on your radar. Meeting people this way can help during a job search or just provide a way for you to practice your informational interviewing or meeting new people in general.
I suggest you take a moment out of your day to sign up and begin expanding your network!
